Winter in Scotland
February 5, 2018
Winter in Scotland can be a beautiful time of year in the Highlands. When it snows at Candacraig it can be a nice reminder to slow down and stay indoors by a warm fire savouring some of Scotland’s finest national drink.
Wrap up in a few layers and head outdoors to our 18 acres of winter wonderland. Our historical walled garden is a lovely place to take a peaceful walk and enjoy the winter flowering plants and flowers. Remember to stop off in the chapel and take a few minutes to flip through our mindful books and relax. Alternatively take a stroll around the grounds and head down to the river and watch the water cascading down from the hills on its way to the city of Aberdeen.
For the more adventurous, we have a ski centre practically on our doorstep. The Lecht is open all year round to various outdoor sports, but it particularly thrives when there is snow on the ground. Lecht 2090 is situated 2090 feet (645m) above sea level amid the beauty of the Eastern Cairngorms. Expect stunning views and scenery when you make the trip up there.
